Live Action Continues to Uncover Sex-Selective Abortions

I previously wrote about an undercover investigation of sex-selective abortion in Texas. Now, Live Action has released another video that revealed two clinics in Arizona aiding women to obtain such “services,” although sex-selective abortion is a felony in Arizona.

At Camelback Family Planning in Phoenix and Tucson Women's Center in Tucson, abortion workers facilitated the cover-up after hearing the woman specifically request a sex-selective abortion.

The woman tells a counselor named Barb at the Camelback clinic that she already has a girl and wants to try for a boy. Barb advises, “Don’t tell us that, because we don’t want to know.” Referring to the clinic’s abortion doctor, Gabrielle Goodrick, Barb said, “You can tell her, she’s gonna tell you the same thing, just: Don’t let it be down! She’s really good about that. You’ll like that about her.”¹

Surgical assistant Francisco, at the Tucson clinic, tells the woman, “We could lose our license,” but then said “I’ll just forget about it…but just be sure not to mention it” to the abortion doctor.²

Live Action has sent the full footage from the Arizona clinics to the state Attorney General, Tom Horne, and to local law enforcement.³

Live Action president Lila Rose urges: “Sex-selective abortion is a global search-and-destroy mission against little girls that is spreading at an alarming rate. While we wait for Congress to pass the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act to ban sex-selective abortion in the U.S., state authorities should vigorously enforce Arizona’s law. The clinics supporting sex-selective abortion should be investigated, prosecuted, defunded, and delicensed immediately.”⁴

On May 31, Live Action released another video of a Planned Parenthood worker at the Margaret Sanger clinic in New York City advising a woman to have either an amniocentesis or a CVS test (chorionic villus sampling) to determine the sex earlier than a standard ultrasound.⁵

Obama and His Worshipers: “Partial Birth Abortion is an Exercise in Liberty”

On Tuesday May 29, 2012, (P)Resident Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens. The Presidential Medal of Freedom, as Obama put it, is “the highest civilian honor this country can bestow.” What, exactly, did Justice Stevens do to warrant such a high honor?

He wrote a Supreme Court opinion arguing that a woman was exercising her right to "liberty" when she hired a doctor to kill her child through the procedure known as partial-birth abortion.1

"That holding--that the word 'liberty' in the Fourteenth Amendment includes a woman’s right to make this difficult and extremely personal decision--makes it impossible for me to understand how a State has any legitimate interest in requiring a doctor to follow any procedure other than the one that he or she reasonably believes will best protect the woman in her exercise of this constitutional liberty," Justice Stevens wrote in his concurring opinion in Stenberg v. Carhart.2, 3 He also joined in the dissent on the Gonzales v. Carhart case, which upheld the ban on partial-birth abortion.4, 5

The official citation for Steven’s Medal of Freedom lauds him for his commitment to “the noble vision of our nation’s founders.”6

Noble? Committing, or aiding and abetting, murder is noble? No matter which way you look at it, the taking of a human life is undoubtedly one of the most heinous crimes one can think of taking part in. It is a horrible thing when that person is an adult, horrifying when it is a child: why, then, is it considered “just another day at the office” for the abortion doctor or the people charged with legislating who is worthy of life? Should we not be even more enraged and disgusted that the slaughtered unborn did not get a chance to say, “hey, what about MY right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness?” Does the fact that they are unable to physically speak for themselves relegate them to the land of the non-living? What about the scores of botched abortions where the baby comes out screaming and crying, undoubtedly aware that something, or someone, was hurting them? If the abortion advocates have seen one the many videos available on the internet of a partial-birth abortion, they would have nightmares for weeks- if they had a heart anyway. Anyone who can watch that and still think, ‘eh, not worth saving, it’s not a living being anyway,’ must be the very embodiment of evil. Obama celebrating evil with an award that the outside world would see as representative of the people of the United States is nothing short of inviting condemnation upon us all.
