The last time I wrote it was regarding women being dragged, beaten, and forced to have abortions by Chinese “Family Planning Officials”. I mentioned Obama’s soft spot for Planned Parenthood and communism. I asked how long it would be before he brought it here. Now, we are one step closer to seeing Chinese-style “family planning” right here in the good ol’ USA.
The United Nations Population
Fund (UNFPA) supports China’s one-child policy and has since day one. It provides millions of dollars to the bureaucrats
who implemented and enforce that policy through coercion, threats, extortion,
kidnapping, and murder. Sounds more like
the Mafia to me. Or Chicago politics. The Obama Administration (led by one of those
Chicago gangsters) is happily funding the UNFPA to the tune of FIFTY. MILLION. DOLLARS.
The UNFPA denied that forced
abortions were taking place, and then claimed it was taking care of the problem
with its “soothing presence.” When it
became public knowledge in 1994, they claimed to abandon the one-child
policy. In 1998, it was back and the
UNFPA said that they would not be using coercive tactics. In 2002, the UNFPA was discovered by the U.S.
State Department and the Population Research Institute to be providing backup
support for the one-child-policy and sharing offices with officials who were
carrying it out. U.S. Secretary of State
Colin Powell stated, “UNFPA’s support of,
and involvement in, China’s population-planning activities allows the Chinese
government to implement more effectively its program of coercive abortion.” UNFPA’s own website confirms that
the organization is carrying out joint “family planning” programs with Chinese
officials.
In Changsha City, the
still-pregnant woman referenced in my previous post is still under guard at a hospital
by between ten and twenty officials who are attempting to persuade her to abort
her baby. This follows earlier reports that another
woman was forcibly aborted at seven months. Even the Chinese public is outraged and demanding justice.
There are a number of people on
internet forums discussing whether we should be sending money to these thugs to
pay off this woman’s “fines” for her “illegal baby,” or staying out of foreign
policy as it is “none of our business.”
I don’t think paying these brutes will prevent them from just raising
the fine even higher so they can continue to bully her until she finally gives
in just to make it stop. This is only
one woman among countless others who may be in the same predicament. It is a noble idea, but ineffective in the
long run, as officials may decide to raise everyone’s fines and publicize cases
(true or not) to earn a quick buck.
I also take issue with the
concept of staying out of foreign policy as it is the whole point of the UN
(not that I agree with their very existence.)
Nearly every government makes a point of getting involved, with the
White House taking the lead. There are
numerous partisan “think-tanks” making foreign policy their sole mission. The problem lies in the election and appointment
of decision-makers and policy-shapers who either don’t know or don’t care about
issues around the world that may eventually impact us negatively, and other
leaders who are championing such heavy-handed tactics to force an evil
worldview and corrupt practices on a blind, deaf, and dumb constituency.
Think long and hard about whom you are voting for in November and what they really have to say about the issues they believe in and policies they will enact, especially those that may contribute to the poor prognosis of American Christianity.
